My reminders aren't ringing — how do I fix it?

Almost always this is your phone's battery saver stopping the app from running in the background. Allow Birthday Reminder to run unrestricted:

  • Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO (MIUI): Settings → Apps → Birthday Reminder → Battery saver → No restrictions; also Autostart → On.
  • Samsung (One UI): Settings → Apps → Birthday Reminder → Battery → Unrestricted; turn off “Put app to sleep”.
  • OnePlus / Oppo / Realme (ColorOS): Settings → Battery → App battery management → Birthday Reminder → Don't restrict + allow Auto-launch.
  • Vivo / iQOO (Funtouch/OriginOS): Settings → Battery → High background power consumption → allow Birthday Reminder; enable Auto-start.
  • Nothing / Pixel / stock Android: Settings → Apps → Birthday Reminder → Battery → Unrestricted.

Also make sure notifications are enabled for the app and that Do-Not-Disturb isn't silencing it.

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Google Play, so you cancel there: open the Google Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Birthday Reminder → Cancel. You keep Premium until the current paid period ends.

I paid but Premium isn't active. How do I restore it?

Open the app → Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Google account you bought it with. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with your order number.

How does backup & restore work?

In Settings → Backup & Restore (Premium), tap Export backup to save a backup file to your device. On a new phone, install the app and use Import backup to bring everything back. The backup file stays under your control — we never receive it.

How do I delete my account and data?

Use Settings → Delete all data in the app to wipe on-device data, and our Delete Account page to remove any server-side data (within 7 days). Full details are on that page.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your birthdays, notes and photos stay on your device and never reach our servers. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what we do and don't collect.
